How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Nursery Manager

    Location: Wigan

    Hours: 8:15 AM - 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday

    Start Date: September

    Salary: Competitive, based on experience

    About the Role

    Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursery Manager to cover a maternity leave at a charming, small school nursery based in Wigan. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a close-knit team in a nurturing educational environment.

    Running from Monday to Friday (8:15 AM - 4:00 PM), this role offers excellent working hours that balance a fulfilling leadership career with a great work-life balance.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Provide daily leadership and management to the nursery team, ensuring the highest standards of care and early education.

    Oversee the implementation of the EYFS curriculum, creating a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment for young learners.

    Maintain strong, supportive relationships with parents, carers, and the wider school community.

    Ensure full compliance with all safeguarding, health and safety, and regulatory requirements.

    Manage day-to-day administration and smoothly transition children into the wider school ecosystem.

    What We Are Looking For:

    A minimum of a Level 3 qualification in Childcare/Early Years (Degree or Level 5/6 management qualification is highly desirable).

    Proven experience as a Nursery Manager, Deputy Manager, or strong Room Leader looking to step up.

    In-depth knowledge of the EYFS framework and excellent safeguarding practice.

    A warm, approachable leadership style with excellent communication skills.

    A current enhanced DBS check (or willingness to process one through Tradewind).
