How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Tradewind Recruitment are working with a specialist secondary school in Enfield to recruit a dedicated English Teacher for a full-time, long-term position starting in September 2026.

    The school supports students aged 11-19 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in a nurturing, therapeutic environment where every student is encouraged to achieve their full potential. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive staff team that values strong relationships, high expectations and inclusive teaching.

    Whether you're an experienced English Teacher or an Early Career Teacher (ECT), this role offers the opportunity to develop your skills while making a lasting impact on the lives of young people.

    The Role

    As an English Teacher, you will:

    Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated English lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
    Inspire students to develop their reading, writing, speaking and listening skills.
    Adapt teaching to meet the individual needs of learners with SEMH.
    Monitor progress and use assessment to support pupil achievement.
    Build positive relationships that encourage confidence, resilience and engagement.
    Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and the wider school team to create a positive learning environment.
    Promote high expectations and support students to achieve their academic and personal goals.

    The Ideal Candidate

    We are looking for someone who:

    Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
    Has experience teaching English at secondary level.
    Has strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
    Is passionate about supporting young people to overcome barriers to learning.
    Is resilient, patient and committed to inclusive education.
    Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to apply for one.Previous experience working within an SEMH or SEND setting is desirable but not essential. We welcome applications from passionate English Teachers with strong behaviour management skills who are looking to transition into specialist education.
