How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Do you have experience of working within software delivery in a manufacturing plant environment? This is a great opportunity to step into Plant IT Engineer work where technology keeps production moving every day. As a Plant IT Engineer, you’ll become a go-to expert for Plant Floor System (PFS) applications, supporting critical operations and helping shape smarter ways of working at a major engine manufacturing facility. This role offers a clear, meaningful mission and the chance to sharpen high-value IT support skills in a fast-paced industrial environment.

    What You Will Do:

    ● Lead the seamless operation of PFS (Plant Floor System) applications on site.
    ● Act as the subject matter expert (SME) for multiple PFS applications, using that knowledge to deliver production support and practical improvements.
    ● Manage and resolve critical incidents and issues, working closely with in-plant customers, other in-plant IT teams, global IT, and suppliers.
    ● Support the implementation of infrastructure and application projects, ensuring robust delivery and smooth adoption.
    ● Follow best-in-class IT processes, tools, methodologies, and standards, including audit requirements as set out in the Master Audit Schedule.
    ● Create and maintain documentation to keep supporting plant systems clear, compliant, and easy to operate.

    What You Will Bring:

    ● Extensive software delivery experience.

    ● Experience in production environment support, configuration and deployment, with a strong track record of keeping systems stable.
    ● Systems administration capability, including planned upgrades and patches, with confidence in managing routine and urgent change.
    ● Proven ability to prioritise workloads, multitask, and react effectively when critical issues arise.
    ● Strong communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across internal teams and external suppliers.
    ● A degree or equivalent experience in an IT or related subject.

This Plant IT Engineer role directly supports the company’s goal of reliable, secure, well-governed operations in an industrial setting. By applying structured IT practices, ensuring appropriate security checks, and maintaining clear documentation, you help the wider business deliver dependable production outcomes and continuous improvement.

    Location:

Based at Dagenham Engine Plant, with on-site working in a manufacturing environment. Fully based on site with occasional weekend work required.
