How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Associate Director CDM Principal Designer

I'm working exclusively with a well-established, privately owned, small multidisciplinary consultancy that is looking to appoint an Associate Director, CDM Principal Designer to play a pivotal role in the next stage of its growth.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CDM professional who enjoys building client relationships as much as delivering technical excellence. The business has an outstanding reputation, a collaborative culture, and ambitious growth plans, making this an ideal move for someone looking to influence the direction of a consultancy rather than simply be another number.

    The Role

As Associate Director, you'll take ownership of a diverse portfolio of projects while helping to grow and develop the CDM service offering. You'll work closely with the senior leadership team, supporting strategic growth through existing relationships, networking and identifying new business opportunities.

This role would suit someone who already has a strong industry presence and is confident developing long-term client partnerships.

    Responsibilities

    * Deliver the Principal Designer role across a wide range of construction projects.

    * Manage and develop key client relationships.

    * Generate new business opportunities through your existing network and industry contacts.

    * Build and manage junior members of the CDM team.

    * Contribute to the wider business strategy and future growth of the consultancy.

    About You

    * Extensive experience working as a CDM Principal Designer.

    * Strong knowledge of the CDM Regulations 2015 and current industry best practice.

    * Commercially minded with excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

    * Chartered membership of a relevant professional body is desirable but not essential.

    * An established network of clients and professional contacts, with a proven ability to win and retain work.

    What's on Offer

    * A genuine leadership position with the opportunity to shape and grow a successful business.

    * The autonomy to make commercial decisions & influence the direction of the team.

    * A collaborative, entrepreneurial environment where your ideas will be valued.

    * Competitive salary up to £80,000 + bonus and benefits package.

If you're an experienced CDM Principal Designer looking for a leadership role where you can make a real impact, please reach out to Lucy for a confidential conversation
