How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically minded professional with strong installation knowledge and a passion for quality, coaching, and continuous improvement.

Working across the Newcastle and Durham area, you will provide expert technical support to installers, helping to maintain exceptional installation standards, improve technical performance, and ensure outstanding customer satisfaction.

    The Role

As a Technical Support Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting and developing installers through technical guidance, field training, quality audits, and coaching. You will work closely with operational teams to identify quality improvements, resolve technical issues, and help implement best practice across the region.

This field-based role covers the Newcastle and Durham area, providing hands-on technical support, training, and quality guidance to installers.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Provide technical support via a Quality & Technical Help Line on a rota with fellow engineers.

    * Deliver on-site field training, coaching, and quality audits for installers.

    * Carry out Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on product faults and installation issues to identify long-term solutions.

    * Attend internal quality and technical review meetings to coordinate field issues and improvements.

    * Support installers with complex installations and challenging remedial projects.

    Training & Development

    * Assist in developing and delivering high-quality technical and installation training programmes.

    * Mentor and support new installers throughout their onboarding journey.

    * Assess, coach, and sign off installers' technical competence following their training period.

    * Support the development of online training content covering new products, components, and installation techniques.

    * Contribute to the creation and continuous improvement of field operating procedures and best practice documentation.

    Quality & Continuous Improvement

    * Promote and maintain high standards of health, safety, and installation quality.

    * Conduct quality audits within customer aftercare services, providing constructive coaching where improvements are required.

    * Work collaboratively with installers and manufacturing teams to improve technical standards and installation quality across the business.

    About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

    * Strong knowledge of door products, components, and assembly materials.

    * Experience of installation processes, fault finding, and technical troubleshooting.

    * Previous experience providing remote technical support.

    * Experience coaching, mentoring, or training installation teams.

    * Experience conducting quality audits or inspections.

    * Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

    * A proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to work independently.

    * A collaborative team-focused attitude with a strong customer focus.

    * A full UK driving licence.

    What's on Offer

    * Salary of £37,000 plus bonus.

    * Company vehicle or car allowance.

    * Fuel Card

    * Ongoing training and professional development.

    * A varied and rewarding field-based role where you can make a real impact.

    * The opportunity to work with a well-established and growing organisation committed to quality and continuous improvement.

    * Genuine opportunities for career progression and development within the company.
