How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    English Teacher – September 2026
    Are you an enthusiastic English Teacher looking for a fresh start in September? This warm and supportive alternative provision is seeking a committed English Teacher to join the team on a long-term basis.     As an English Teacher, you will play a key role in engaging learners who may have faced challenges in mainstream settings, helping them rebuild confidence and achieve meaningful progress.

    Responsibilities include:

    Planning and delivering creative, accessible English lessons across Key Stages.
    Supporting students with varied social, emotional, and academic needs.
    Creating a positive classroom environment that promotes engagement and resilience.
    Differentiating work to meet individual learning requirements.
    Managing behaviour using consistent, supportive strategies.
    Contributing to wider curriculum development and whole-school initiatives.
    Working effectively with the pastoral team to remove barriers to learning.

    Hold QTS or QTLS, with strong subject knowledge.
    Have experience teaching students who require additional support.
    Be patient, adaptable, and able to build positive relationships.
    Demonstrate strong behaviour management and communication skills.
