How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

MEICA Site Manager (Water / Mechanical Bias)

Location: Kent & South East London (Mobile Role)

Rate: £400 - £450 per day (CIS or LTD)

    Start: ASAP

Duration: 6 Months (with permanent opportunities available)

    Project Overview

We are seeking an experienced MEICA Site Manager to join a leading regional contractor delivering essential asset upgrades across Kent and South East London.

The project scope focuses on vital environment, river, and water control infrastructure. You will manage packages involving the mechanics of sluice gates, river locks, pumping stations, and the installation/upgrade of specialized eel screens. A mechanical engineering bias is highly advantageous for this position, as you will take full operational control on-site to drive delivery safely, on budget, and to framework specifications.

    Key Responsibilities

Site Leadership: Take operational responsibility for MEICA delivery, managing the day-to-day programme and coordinating multi-disciplinary subcontractors across various site locations.

Asset Upgrades & Replacement: Oversee complex M&E packages including river locks, sluice gates, pumping systems, and specialized eel screen replacements.

Technical Compliance: Interrogate MEICA design drawings, P&IDs, and specifications to ensure right-first-time delivery and seamless mechanical and electrical systems integration.

Health & Safety Management: Enforce strict CDM 2015 and asset safety standards. Write, review, and sign off on RAMS, manage Permit to Work systems, and oversee safe working procedures near/over water and within confined spaces.

Commercial & Progress Tracking: Track daily outputs against target budgets, manage variations, maintain accurate site diaries, and report progress directly to the Project Manager.

    Requirements

MEICA Management Experience: Proven track record as a Site Manager delivering mechanical and electrical engineering packages within the water, river environment, or utilities sectors.

Mechanical Bias: A strong mechanical engineering background or specific advantage in heavy mechanical asset installation (gates, locks, pumps) is highly beneficial.

Asset Knowledge: Deep understanding of water level control structures (sluice gates, lock mechanisms), pumping station components, and relevant asset standards.

    Qualifications:

SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)

    Black or Gold CSCS Card

EUSR National Water Hygiene card is highly desirable.

Mobility: Full UK driving licence is mandatory, as this role involves traveling to various regional site locations across Kent and South East London.

    Contract Details

Coverage Area: Kent and South East London framework sites.

Payment Options: CIS or LTD company models welcome.

Stability: Initial 6-month contract with a clear path to a long-term permanent role for the right candidate.

If this is something that interests you please apply or reach out directly.
