How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Fire Service Manager to oversee the delivery of fire compliance activities and remedial works across a key service area. This role will take responsibility for ensuring fire safety standards are maintained across a complex estate, managing compliance risks and ensuring statutory, contractual and operational requirements are consistently achieved. The successful candidate will lead the coordination of fire door compliance activities, inspection findings and remedial programmes, working closely with operational teams, supply chain partners, Defence Infrastructure Organisation representatives and internal stakeholders to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and within agreed timescales.

    Key Responsibilities

Manage the delivery of fire compliance activities, including fire door inspections, passive fire remedial works and associated improvement programmes.
Review inspection reports, assess findings and support the prioritisation of remedial actions based on risk, compliance requirements and operational impact.
Provide technical guidance and advice to operational teams, contractors and stakeholders regarding fire safety requirements, inspection outcomes and required corrective actions.
Manage the full remedial works lifecycle, ensuring defects are accurately recorded, works are appropriately planned, delivered and completed within contractual timescales.
Coordinate supply chain partners, monitoring performance, workmanship, quality standards, documentation and compliance against agreed requirements.
Ensure all fire safety works are completed safely and in accordance with relevant legislation, company procedures, industry standards and best practice.
Act as the main point of contact for fire compliance matters within the allocated service area, supporting customers, operational teams and delivery partners with advice and resolution of issues.
Develop and maintain effective relationships with Heads of Establishment, DIO representatives, contractors and internal stakeholders to support successful service delivery.
Monitor compliance performance, risks, progress updates and key performance indicators, providing accurate reporting to management teams.
Support commercial and operational performance through effective resource management, budget monitoring and oversight of supply chain delivery.
Maintain accurate compliance records through CAFM systems and reporting platforms, ensuring inspection findings, remedial actions and supporting documentation are fully captured.
Identify opportunities to improve processes, strengthen compliance arrangements and enhance the overall quality of fire service delivery.
Promote a strong safety culture, ensuring all activities are completed with health, safety, quality and compliance at the forefront.

    Skills & Experience Required

Previous experience managing fire compliance activities, passive fireworks, building maintenance, facilities management or a similar operational environment.
Strong understanding of fire safety legislation, compliance requirements, inspection processes and remedial works delivery.
Experience managing fire door inspections, defects, remedial programmes and contractor-led repair works.
Proven experience managing contractors, supply chain partners and multiple workstreams within a complex or regulated environment.
Ability to interpret technical reports, identify compliance risks and support effective mitigation strategies.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities across a large and varied estate.
Commercial awareness with experience monitoring performance, resources, costs and service delivery standards.
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage, influence and build effective working relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
Experience using CAFM systems, Maximo or similar asset management platforms would be advantageous.
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications and reporting tools.
Proactive and solutions-focused approach with the ability to take ownership, make informed decisions and maintain high standards.
