How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Great opportunity to develop your career as a Line Leader within a well-established pork processing facility, helping to ensure high-quality products are produced safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

    Staffline is recruiting Line Leaders in Bugle, St Austell.

    This role is ideal for candidates with production or manufacturing experience who are ready to take the next step in their career. As a Line Leader, you will play a key role in supporting performance, developing colleagues, and helping your department achieve operational targets.

    The rate of pay is:
    - AM £14.04 per hour
    - PM £15.04 per hour

    Overtime is available and is paid at:
    - AM £21.06 per hour
    - PM £22.56 per hour

    This is a full-time role working Monday - Friday, and the hours of work are:
    - AM: 6:25am to 3:25pm
    - PM: 3:15pm to 11:45pm

    Applicants must have their own transport to get to the site, which cannot be accessed by public transport or on foot.

    Your Time at Work

    As a Line Leader, you will support the day-to-day running of your designated production area, helping to ensure production targets, quality standards, and operational requirements are achieved.

    Key duties include:
    - Leading and supporting a team within your designated area
    - Monitoring performance against key performance indicators and escalating issues where required
    - Assisting with line set-up, adjustment, and operational support
    - Following departmental procedures and product specifications
    - Completing accurate eSmiley data entry, paperwork, and production records
    - Monitoring quality standards and ensuring GMP and audit requirements are maintained
    - Reporting equipment faults, hazards, and operational concerns promptly
    - Maintaining hourly performance boards and supporting efficiency improvements
    - Coaching and training colleagues within the department
    - Supporting employee development and identifying potential future talent
    - Ensuring production run details, downtime, and performance information are accurately recorded
    - Promoting effective communication across the team
    - Acting as a role model by demonstrating company values and high-performance standards
    - Supporting additional operational activities when required

    Our Perfect Worker

    Our ideal Line Leader will be a reliable and motivated individual with strong communication skills and a positive attitude.

    You will be confident working within a fast-paced production environment and capable of supporting colleagues to achieve departmental objectives.

    Previous experience within a production, manufacturing, food production, or supervisory role would be beneficial, although full training will be provided.

    You will have:
    - Good attention to detail
    - Strong organisational skills
    - Good English and communication skills
    - The ability to work under pressure and prioritise tasks effectively
    - A proactive approach to problem-solving
    - The ability to lead by example and support team development

    Applicants must be physically fit, as the role involves prolonged standing and some manual handling activities.
