How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

About the Children: Jemima and Sarah are delightful twin girls who are approaching their first birthday. They are happy, smiley and incredibly easy to spend time with, each with a calm nature and an infectious personality. They love playing together, enjoy interactive play, and are beginning to explore the world around them through a shared daily routine. Jemima is currently undergoing treatment for liver cancer (hepatoblastoma). She receives nutrition via an NG tube and has a central line while continuing chemotherapy. Aside from her medical needs, Jemima follows the same daily routine as Sarah and enjoys opportunities to play, explore and build her confidence at her own pace. Throughout her treatment, she has remained a bright, engaged and playful little girl who simply enjoys being a one-year-old. Sarah is an active, fun-loving little girl who thrives alongside her sister.
The Role at a Glance: This rewarding part-time role centres around providing sole care for both twins across two days each week. The successful nanny will confidently manage the girls' shared routine while providing the additional support Jemima requires, including NG tube feeding and care related to her ongoing treatment, ensuring both children receive equal warmth, attention and opportunities to learn, play and thrive. On occasion, the nanny may also provide sole care for Sarah while Jemima attends hospital appointments with her parents. Community nurses visit the family home twice a week to provide Jemima's clinical care. During these visits, support includes preparing equipment, comforting Jemima, and supporting the nursing team while they carry out procedures. Full training, including NG tube feeding, will be provided. During the twins' afternoon nap, there is time for a lunch break and light child-related household duties. The family also have an older daughter, who is almost four years old. She currently attends nursery, so this role is dedicated entirely to the twins. The role is 2 days per week, 9.00am to 6.00pm, ideally Wednesday and Friday, although there is flexibility on the working days for the right candidate. The salary is £20.00 to £25.00 gross per hour, depending on experience.
This Job Would Suit: This role would suit an experienced nanny, complex care nanny, children's nurse, paediatric healthcare assistant or childcare professional who enjoys working with babies and wants to make a genuine difference to the lives of two young children. Someone calm, organised and reliable, who appreciates the importance of routine, communicates openly and has a strong understanding of safeguarding and *infection control.
Why You'll Love This Role: This is a fantastic opportunity to join a warm, welcoming family provide sole care for two delightful twin girls, one of whom has complex medical needs. You'll receive specialist training, work alongside an experienced community nursing team and gain valuable complex care experience, all while becoming part of a fun, well-organised family. There is also the potential for the role to develop beyond October, with the possibility of additional hours as the family's needs evolve.
Recruitment Process: Snap Care manages the full recruitment process, including shortlisting, recruiter interviews, and arranging employer interviews.
