How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - Havering

    Location: Havering, East London
    Contract Type: Permanent
    Start Date: 1 September
    Salary: £22,000-£36,000 per annum, depending on experience

    A thriving primary school in Havering is seeking an enthusiastic and capable Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join its team from September. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated practitioner who enjoys working across the primary age range and is committed to helping children succeed.

    In this varied role, you will provide class cover when required, deliver targeted interventions, and work closely with teachers to ensure every pupil receives the support and challenge they need. You will have the opportunity to contribute to a positive, inclusive school environment where staff collaborate closely and professional development is encouraged.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Provide high-quality classroom cover across Reception to Year 6 using established lesson plans.
    Deliver one-to-one and small-group support to raise attainment and confidence.
    Assist teachers in creating engaging and effective learning experiences.
    Adapt activities to meet the needs of pupils with differing abilities and backgrounds.
    Promote positive behaviour and a nurturing atmosphere for learning.
    Track pupil progress and share feedback with teaching staff.
    Take an active role in the wider life of the school.We are looking for someone who:

    Holds HLTA status or has significant experience in a comparable role.
    Has experience leading learning within a primary school setting.
    Demonstrates excellent communication and organisational skills.
    Builds strong relationships with pupils, colleagues and families.
    Is adaptable, proactive and eager to work across different year groups.
