How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Electrician – Student Accommodation Project
    Location: Birmingham
    Rate: £26 per hour
    Hours: 45 hours per week
    Start Date: Immediate
    Duration: Approx 8 weeks + potential 18 month follow-on project

    MEP Technical Talent are currently recruiting for experienced Electricians to join a leading M&E Contractor on a large student accommodation project in Birmingham.

    The project is currently entering the final stages and requires Electricians to assist with completing outstanding works, snagging and final handover.

    The initial requirement is to support completion of this project, however the contractor has a new 334 apartment scheme starting in Wolverhampton in the coming months. Reliable Electricians who perform well will have the opportunity to move across onto this project, offering around 18 months of additional work.

    The Role:

    You will be working alongside the site team completing final installation works and closing out snagging items ready for handover.

    Duties will include:

    * Completing electrical snagging works

    * Working from snagging lists provided by Supervisors / Managers

    * Final fix electrical works

    * Testing support and remedial works

    * Lighting and power installations

    * Containment adjustments and alterations

    * Completing works to a high standard ready for client handover

    * Working safely as part of the site team

    Requirements:

    * Previous experience working as an Electrician on commercial / residential projects

    * Experience on apartments, student accommodation, hotels or similar projects beneficial

    * Ability to work through snagging lists efficiently

    * Must be reliable and able to work independently

    * ECS Gold Card required

    * Own tools

    * Immediate availability preferred

    Package:

    * £26 per hour

    * 45 hours per week

    * Immediate start

    * Approx 8 weeks initially (with potential follow-on work)

    * Opportunity to move onto a new 334 apartment scheme

    * Potential 18 months of additional work
