How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Cover Supervisor - Flexible Secondary School Opportunities | High Wycombe

    Experienced Cover Supervisor opportunities across Secondary Schools with flexible working patterns, daily supply, long-term assignments and permanent options available.

    Experienced Cover Supervisor professionals are required to work across a number of established secondary schools in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. Whether you are looking for occasional daily supply, regular weekly work or a long-term placement, a variety of opportunities are available to fit around your availability.

    Schools are looking for confident individuals who can step into different classroom environments, maintain high expectations and ensure pupils remain engaged with the work that has been set. Strong classroom management and the ability to adapt quickly are the key qualities needed to succeed.

    The Role

    As a Cover Supervisor, you will take responsibility for delivering pre-planned lessons during the absence of the class teacher, ensuring pupils continue to learn within a positive and structured classroom environment.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    Delivering lesson instructions provided by teaching staff.
    Managing behaviour consistently and professionally.
    Encouraging pupil participation and maintaining a productive learning environment.
    Responding calmly to different classroom situations.
    Providing feedback to teaching staff following each lesson.
    Supporting schools with both planned and emergency staff absence.Assignments range from one-day bookings through to full-term placements, with permanent opportunities also available for candidates looking to become part of one school community.

    Candidate Requirements

    Previous experience working within Secondary School education
    Excellent classroom management skills
    Confidence leading groups of pupils independently
    Professionalism, flexibility and reliability
    The ability to build positive relationships quickly within new schoolsApplicants from teaching, cover supervision, learning support and instructor backgrounds are all encouraged to apply where relevant classroom experience can be demonstrated.
