How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    CNC Recruitment is working with a leading aerospace manufacturing business to recruit a Masking Operator to join their production team.

    This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a keen eye for detail who enjoys precision work in a manufacturing environment. You'll be responsible for preparing aerospace components for coating and finishing processes, ensuring the highest quality standards are maintained throughout production.

    Whether you have previous masking or aerospace experience, or transferable skills from a precision manufacturing environment, full training will be provided for the right candidate.

    The Role

    As a Masking Operator, you'll prepare, mask and finish aerospace components prior to coating processes. You'll use a variety of hand tools, masking materials and preparation techniques to ensure components meet strict quality and customer specifications.

    Working closely with production teams, you'll play a key role in maintaining product quality while ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    Wash, clean and degrease components prior to treatment and coating.

    Prepare components using hand tools and small power tools.

    Apply masking tapes, stopping-off lacquer and other masking materials to protect designated areas during coating.

    Carry out wax masking processes where required.

    Remove masking materials and de-burr components following treatment.

    Perform abrasive cleaning and component preparation.

    Maintain the condition and integrity of components throughout the production process.

    Follow detailed verbal and written work instructions.

    Safely identify, handle and dispose of materials in accordance with company procedures.

    Support other production departments as required to meet business demands.

    Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.

    Comply with all Health & Safety and quality procedures.

    What We're Looking ForExperience

    Previous experience within manufacturing, aerospace, engineering or a production environment is desirable.

    Experience with masking, component preparation, finishing or assembly would be advantageous.

    Experience using hand tools and small power tools.

    Full training will be provided for candidates with the right attitude and aptitude.

    Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.

    Good manual dexterity and precision skills.

    Strong organisational skills.

    Ability to maintain consistent quality standards.

    Good understanding of Health & Safety procedures.
