How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Office Based - Basignstoke
    Monday to Friday
    £30,000 – £35,000 + Full Training & Development

    I am recruiting a Product Support Engineer on behalf of a long-standing client of mine - a highly respected UK manufacturer of access automation, parking and access control systems.

    This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking engineering business where you will provide technical support to customers across a specialist product portfolio.

    *Full product and system training will be provided, making this an ideal role for someone with a technical background who wants to develop their career in a more customer-focused engineering environment*!!!

    The Opportunity: As a Product Support Engineer, you will become a key point of contact for customers requiring technical assistance. You will provide first-line telephone support, helping customers with everything from product queries and spare parts identification through to installation guidance, programming support and fault finding. You will work closely with the Technical Manager and wider engineering team, developing your product knowledge and becoming a trusted source of technical advice.

    This is a fully office-based role, Monday to Friday, offering the opportunity to enjoy a more consistent working environment while still remaining close to engineering and technical problem solving.

    The key requirement is that you have a technical mindset, understand basic electrical and/or mechanical principles, and enjoy solving problems and helping people.

    Key Responsibilities:
    Provide telephone-based technical support to customers across the full product range.
    Act as the first point of contact for technical enquiries.
    Support customers with:
    Product selection advice
    Spare parts identification
    Installation guidance
    Programming assistance
    Fault finding and troubleshooting
    Prioritise support requests and ensure customer queries are handled efficiently.
    Manage incoming calls, emails and customer callbacks professionally.
    Escalate more complex technical issues when required.
    Work closely with the Technical Manager and wider support team.
    Contribute ideas to improve technical support processes and tools.
    Maintain and develop product knowledge through ongoing training and self-development.
    Deliver the highest level of customer service at all times.About You -  You will ideally have:

    A formal qualification or practical experience within an electrical, electronic, mechanical or engineering discipline.
    Some experience working within an engineering, installation, maintenance or technical environment.
    Strong problem-solving skills with a logical approach to fault finding.
    Good communication skills and confidence speaking with customers.
    A willingness to learn and develop specialist product knowledge.
