How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Classics Teacher

    Independent School - Westminster, London

    A prestigious independent school located in Westminster is seeking a passionate and experienced Classics Teacher. This exciting opportunity is a full-time position, and role is set to begin as soon as possible and will last for the school year.

    Role Overview:
    As a Classics Teacher, you will inspire students in the study of classical languages and cultures, fostering a deep appreciation for ancient civilizations while encouraging critical thinking, creativity, and academic achievement. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons, engaging students in both Latin and Ancient Greek, and guiding them through the fascinating world of Classical studies.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Teach Latin and/or Ancient Greek to students across different year groups.
    Develop and deliver engaging and academically challenging lessons that enhance students' understanding of the classical world.
    Foster a love of Classics by creating an inspiring and supportive classroom environment.
    Encourage critical thinking and analytical skills through the study of classical texts, history, and philosophy.
    Provide a nurturing environment where students can grow both academically and personally, ensuring each pupil reaches their full potential.

    Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
    A degree in Classics or a related field.
    Proven experience teaching Classics at secondary school level.
