How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a business that is investing significantly in its ecommerce offering and digital growth. As online retail continues to play an increasingly important role in the company's future, we're looking for an experienced ecommerce professional who can take ownership of product merchandising, enhance the customer journey and help deliver a best-in-class online shopping experience.

If you're commercially minded, passionate about ecommerce and thrive on delivering high-quality online product content, this could be the perfect next step in your career.

    The Opportunity

As Ecommerce Merchandiser, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring thousands of products are presented accurately, consistently and in a way that inspires customers to buy.

Working closely with Buying, Digital, UX, Marketing and supplier partners, you'll manage the day-to-day optimisation of the online product catalogue, ensuring every product page meets the highest standards of quality, accuracy and commercial effectiveness.

This is far more than a product administration role. You'll have the opportunity to influence how products are presented online, improve merchandising processes and contribute directly to the continued success of a growing ecommerce function.

    Key Responsibilities

Manage and optimise a large online product catalogue across multiple product categories.

Ensure product pages are accurate, engaging and commercially effective, including product descriptions, specifications, imagery, pricing and digital assets.

Coordinate new product launches and ongoing catalogue updates.

Work closely with manufacturers and suppliers to source product information, imagery, manuals and supporting content.

Manage pricing updates and maintain product data accuracy across ecommerce platforms.

Collaborate with Buying, Digital, UX and Marketing teams to continuously improve the online customer experience.

Monitor product content quality and identify opportunities to improve merchandising standards and internal processes.

Support the ongoing development of ecommerce systems and digital merchandising best practice.

    About You

We're looking for an experienced Ecommerce Merchandiser who enjoys working in a fast-paced retail environment and takes pride in delivering exceptional online customer experiences.

    You'll ideally have:

A minimum of 3 years' experience in Ecommerce Merchandising, Online Merchandising, Digital Trading or Product Content.

Experience managing large online product catalogues within a retail or ecommerce environment.

Strong working knowledge of CMS and/or Product Information Management (PIM) systems.

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP and data analysis.

Excellent attention to detail with outstanding organisational skills.

A commercial mindset with an understanding of how effective merchandising drives online sales.

The ability to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers and external partners.

A proactive, solutions-focused approach with the confidence to identify improvements and take ownership.

Experience within product-led ecommerce business would be highly advantageous but is not essential.

    What's On Offer

Salary of up to £42,000 (c)

Hybrid working (3 days in the office, 2 days from home)

    Excellent benefits package

The opportunity to join a successful, financially strong and growing organisation

A collaborative and supportive working environment where your ideas will be valued

Genuine opportunities for professional development and long-term career progression
