How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    * Provide emotional and practical support tailored to individual needs.

    * Work collaboratively with social workers, families, schools, and other professionals.

    * Contribute to care plans, risk assessments, and individual development goals.

    * Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation.

    * Ensure the home remains safe, clean, and welcoming.

    * Promote safeguarding and make informed decisions to protect young people.

    * Work effectively as part of a team to deliver consistent, person-centred care.

    Essential Requirements:

    * Minimum 1 year's experience working with children or young people aged 8–17 in a care, support, youth work, residential, or educational setting.

    * Ability to engage, support, and build positive relationships with young people.

    * Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    * Experience supporting emotional and behavioural development.

    * Strong understanding of safeguarding responsibilities.

    * Reliable, professional, and committed to delivering high standards of care.

    Desirable Requirements:

    * Previous experience within a residential childcare setting.

    * Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent qualification).

    * Knowledge of challenging behaviour and trauma-informed approaches.

    * Understanding of youth development and therapeutic support practices.

    * Experience working within an Ofsted-regulated environment.

    What We Offer:

    * Supportive and friendly team environment.

    * Ongoing paid training and professional development.

    * Clear progression opportunities, including pathways to Senior Support Worker and Team Leader roles.

    * Opportunity to be part of an expanding organisation with ambitious growth plans.

    * Meaningful work that positively impacts the lives of children and young people.
