How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Head of Drama – Ealing | September 2026 Start |

Are you an ambitious and creative Drama teacher ready to lead a thriving department and inspire the next generation of performers?

We are currently seeking an exceptional Head of Drama to join a welcoming and forward-thinking secondary school in Ealing from September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Drama teacher or current middle leader to shape and develop a dynamic Drama department, fostering creativity, confidence, and outstanding student achievement both in and beyond the classroom.

Our partner school is recognised for its supportive leadership team, inclusive ethos, and commitment to providing a broad and enriching curriculum. The successful candidate will play a key role in leading the Drama department, promoting high-quality teaching and learning, and encouraging pupils to develop their creative talents through performance, collaboration, and self-expression.

The successful Head of Drama will:

    Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Have a proven track record of delivering outstanding Drama lessons across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4 and, ideally, Key Stage 5.
Demonstrate strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate and develop both students and colleagues.
Be passionate about promoting the performing arts and raising standards across the department.
Have excellent curriculum knowledge and the vision to develop an engaging, inclusive and ambitious Drama curriculum.
Possess outstanding classroom management and organisational skills.
Work collaboratively with senior leaders, colleagues, parents and external partners to enrich the school's performing arts provision.

    Key responsibilities include:

Leading and managing the Drama department.
Developing an innovative and engaging Drama curriculum.
Organising and overseeing school productions, performances and enrichment opportunities.
Monitoring student progress and driving high levels of achievement.
Coaching and supporting colleagues within the department.
Maintaining high standards of teaching, learning, behaviour and achievement.
Contributing to the wider strategic vision and cultural life of the school.

    We offer:

A competitive salary paid to scale, including a TLR allowance.
A permanent leadership opportunity within a highly regarded secondary school.
Excellent opportunities for professional development and career progression.
A supportive and collaborative leadership team.
Ongoing support from a dedicated education consultant throughout the recruitment process.
Please note: A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection is essential. All applicants will be subject to safer recruitment checks, including an Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

Apply today to secure this exciting leadership opportunity for September 2026 and become part of a vibrant and successful school community in Ealing
