How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

This is an ideal opportunity for a well-rounded engineer with experience across multiple complex engineering disciplines who is looking to take their career to the next level. Joining an innovative business at an exciting stage of growth, you will play a key role in developing manufacturing capability for cutting-edge RF and satellite communications technology.
With continued investment in new products and emerging technologies, this role offers the opportunity to make a genuine impact by introducing new products into manufacturing and developing advanced automated test solutions. Based in Stevenage, you will work closely with the manufacturing operation, supporting new product introduction and helping shape the future of production engineering.

This is a hands-on role where you will take ownership of introducing new products into manufacturing and setting up automated RF production test systems from the ground up. You will design and develop test equipment, jigs and fixtures, write LabVIEW software to automate RF test equipment, commission new production test stations, and generate all manufacturing and test documentation required to support production. You will also drive continuous improvement initiatives, provide technical support throughout the product lifecycle, train production staff, audit manufacturing processes, and ensure the highest standards of quality and efficiency are maintained.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience working within an electronics manufacturing environment and understand how production lines are established, developed and supported. You must have a strong background in RF and microwave testing, with proven experience designing and automating RF test equipment using LabVIEW. This role requires someone who can take ownership of complex manufacturing test solutions from concept through to implementation.

This is a pivotal role that will help deliver the next generation of products through the NPI process during an exciting period of growth. You will influence key engineering decisions, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and see innovative, high-tech products progress from initial concept through to full-scale production.
