How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Fire Alarm Engineer | South Wales | £38,000 - £42,000 + Overtime + Commission

    Are you an experienced Fire Alarm Engineer looking for a role that offers variety, progression and strong earning potential?

    We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing fire and security business seeking a skilled engineer to support a diverse portfolio of clients throughout South Wales and the South West.

    The Role
    You'll be responsible for the service, maintenance, fault finding and repair of fire alarm systems across a range of commercial and public sector sites.
    Typical clients include:

    NHS facilities
    Local Authorities
    Housing Associations

    The role is primarily service and maintenance focused, although installation experience would be beneficial.
    Experience Required

    Experience servicing and maintaining fire alarm systems
    Strong fault-finding ability
    Knowledge of both addressable and conventional fire alarm systems
    Full UK driving licence
    Good customer-facing and communication skills

    Desirable Experience

    Siemens fire alarm systems
    Installation and commissioning
    FIA or industry-recognised qualifications
