How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    SC Cleared Data Cabling Engineers
    Reading | Ongoing Project Opportunities

    Morris Sinclair is recruiting experienced SC Cleared Data Cabling Engineers to support an initial infrastructure project based in Reading.

    This is an excellent opportunity to work with a client that delivers structured cabling and network infrastructure projects across the UK, Europe and Malaysia.

    While the first assignment is based in Reading, engineers who perform well may be offered opportunities to work on future deployments both nationally and internationally.

    The Role
    You'll be responsible for delivering high-quality structured cabling installations across commercial and secure environments, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to industry standards.

    The initial project requires active SC Clearance due to the nature of the site.

    Essential Requirements
    Current Active SC Clearance
    Own vehicle suitable for transporting tools and equipment
    Own professional data cabling toolkit
    Full UK Driving Licence
    Ability to travel as projects require
    Right to work in the UK Technical Experience We're looking for engineers with strong experience in:

    Cat5e, Cat6 and Cat6a installations
    Structured cabling standards (BS EN 50173 / ISO IEC 11801)
    Cable management systems and containment
    Testing and certification using Fluke or equivalent equipment
    Reading and interpreting technical drawings and installation specifications
    Diagnosing and resolving installation issues
    Delivering high-quality installations within project timescales Health & Safety
    CSCS Card or equivalent preferred
    Comfortable working at height, including ladders, ceiling voids and raised floors
    Physically able to lift equipment and work within confined spaces
    Strong commitment to health and safety procedures What We're Looking For You'll be a reliable, professional engineer who takes pride in producing high-quality work and representing both Morris Sinclair and our client on customer sites.
