How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    An established, multidisciplinary construction consultancy is looking to appoint an experienced CDM Principal Designer to join its London team. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident, capable professional who can hit the ground running and become a key member of a growing team.
    The successful candidate will work across a diverse portfolio of high-profile projects, including residential, commercial, healthcare and infrastructure schemes throughout London, with values ranging from £500k to £500m+.
    Initially this is an office-based role to encourage collaboration with the architectural and design teams, moving to one day per week working from home.
    The Role
    * Deliver both Principal Designer and Client CDM Advisor services.
    * Provide practical CDM and health & safety advice from project inception through to completion.
    * Collaborate closely with architects, design teams and clients to ensure effective design risk management.
    * Attend design team meetings and contribute to the successful delivery of complex projects.
    * Build strong client relationships while maintaining high technical standards and helping to secure new work.
    * Mentor and develop CDM professionals.
    Experience
    * Several years’ experience delivering the Principal Designer and Client CDM Advisor services.
    * Previous construction or design background (e.g. Architect, Engineer or Construction Management- preferred)
    * Strong client-facing, communication and business development skills.
    * Excellent Knowledge of the CDM Regulations 2015.
    Qualifications
    * A relevant degree is preferred.
    * Working towards or already holding CMaPS, CMIOSH, or an equivalent professional qualification.
