How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Data Analyst - Boston, Lincs - Attractive salary

    ALH Recruitment are looking to recruit a Data Analyst for our client who lead their industry and are based in Boston, Lincolnshire.

    Data Analyst role:

    We're looking for a Data Analyst to join our client's team and help turn data from across the business into clear, actionable insight. You'll work closely with operations, sales and finance to pull data from our ERP, CRM and other core systems, clean and transform it, and build dashboards and reports that support day-to-day decision-making.

    This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys getting into the detail of messy data and turning it into something people can actually use.

    What You'll Be Doing

    · Extracting data from our ERP, CRM and other business systems

    · Cleaning, transforming and validating data to ensure accuracy and consistency

    · Designing and building dashboards and reports for different teams across the business

    · Writing and optimising SQL queries to pull and manipulate data from multiple sources

    · Identifying trends, patterns and opportunities for improvement through data analysis

    · Working with stakeholders to understand reporting needs and translate them into practical solutions

    · Maintaining and improving existing reports and data models over time

    What They're Looking For

    · Working knowledge of SQL (writing queries, joins, aggregations)

    · Experience with a data visualisation tool such as Power BI, Tableau or Qlik

    · Power BI and DAX experience preferred

    · Experience extracting and working with data from ERP and/or CRM systems

    · Comfortable cleaning and transforming raw, imperfect data

    · Good attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving

    · Strong communication skills, able to explain data findings to non-technical colleagues

    Nice to Have

    · Experience with Power Query / ETL tools

    · Familiarity with Excel (advanced formulas, Power Pivot)

    · API knowledge
