How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer - Food Manufacturing

    Salary: £48,000 per annum
    Shift Pattern: Tuesday - Saturday, Days
    Location: Aberystwyth, Wales

    We are recruiting for an experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a leading food manufacturing business based in Aberystwyth.

    This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established dairy manufacturer producing high-quality products within a modern food production environment. The business operates within a fast-paced FMCG setting, where engineering plays a key role in maintaining production performance, reliability, and continuous improvement.

    The Role

    As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and availability of production machinery across the site.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance

    Diagnosing and repairing electrical and mechanical faults

    Supporting production teams to minimise downtime

    Working on a range of food processing and packaging equipment

    Completing fault finding on machinery, sensors, motors, drives and control systems

    Assisting with continuous improvement projects

    Maintaining high standards of food safety, quality and engineering compliance

    About You

    We are looking for an engineer with a strong electrical and mechanical background who is comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

    You will ideally have:

    Previous experience as a Maintenance Engineer, Multi-Skilled Engineer, or Engineering Technician

    Electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills

    Experience within FMCG, food manufacturing, packaging, or process environments

    Knowledge of conveyors, production machinery, pumps, motors, pneumatics and automation

    A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement

    Strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with production teams

    Permanent day shift - Tuesday to Saturday
