How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    IT Technician – Newcastle upon Tyne
    £27,000 - £30,000 + Excellent benefits
     
    This profitable and growing organisation require an experienced IT Technician to provide technical support to a user base of just over 200 and growing. You will be responsible for the smooth operation of IT Services and Systems, helping the business maintain productivity by resolving technical issues promptly effectively.
     
    Working as part a newly established IT department, you will act as the first point of contact for all IT-related issues and requests, providing 1st and 2nd line support for hardware, software, and network problems. As an IT Technician you will assist with onboarding and offboarding processes, including account setup and device configuration whilst also providing training on IT Systems to staff.
     
    This role will be office based in central Newcastle, with the organisation looking to improve their hybrid working offering.

    Experience required:

    1st / 2nd line IT support experience
    Windows Server
    Microsoft 365
    Active Directory / Entra ID
    Exposure to networking technologies - LAN/WAN, firewalls, VPN
    Excellent communication skills.
    Excellent problem-solving skills
    FreshService, SSO Solutions, Remote Management tools - desirable
