How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Mobile HGV Technician Location: Northampton
    Salary: £42,000 - £48,000 Basic + Overtime + Company Van + Excellent Benefits

    Mobile HGV Technician – Northampton We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mobile HGV Technician to join a well-established and growing commercial vehicle business covering Northampton and the surrounding areas.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled HGV Technician who enjoys working independently, providing roadside assistance, carrying out on-site maintenance and delivering first-class customer service.

    The Role As a Mobile HGV Technician, your responsibilities will include:

    Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs and commercial vehicles.
    Attending roadside breakdowns and emergency call-outs.
    Diagnosing mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults using diagnostic equipment.
    Completing preventative maintenance inspections (PMIs).
    Preparing vehicles for DVSA inspections and MOT.
    Carrying out brake, suspension, steering and engine repairs.
    Maintaining accurate service records and job documentation.
    Ordering parts where required.
    Providing excellent customer service whilst working at customer sites.
    Working safely and ensuring compliance with DVSA and Health & Safety standards.
    Participating in an on-call rota (where applicable).Requirements
    Previous experience as an HGV Technician, Mobile HGV Technician or Commercial Vehicle Technician.
    NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair preferred.
    Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
    Experience working on a range of HGVs and trailers.
    Full UK Driving Licence (HGV Licence advantageous but not essential).
    Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
    Excellent communication and customer service skills.What's on Offer?
