How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    About the Role

Join a leading UK civil engineering and infrastructure specialist delivering some of the country’s most important projects across the water, transport, energy, and built environment sectors.

With a strong pipeline of long-term infrastructure investment ahead, our client is entering an exciting period of growth, working in close partnership with major organisations to deliver complex, high-impact projects that support communities for years to come.

As a Quantity Surveyor, you’ll play a key role within an integrated project delivery team, providing essential commercial expertise to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and successfully. You’ll be responsible for managing costs, supporting decision-making, and driving value throughout the project lifecycle.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially driven professional looking to develop their career while contributing to major infrastructure schemes with real national importance.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Take ownership of cost and commercial management across allocated projects

    * Prepare accurate cost reports, forecasts, valuations, and financial analysis

    * Provide commercial guidance and contractual support to project teams

    * Work collaboratively with delivery teams to identify efficiencies and deliver value improvements

    * Manage change, maintain financial control, and support successful project outcomes

    * Maintain accurate records, including project accounts and final accounts

    * Ensure compliance with internal governance, contractual obligations, and client requirements

    About You

We’re looking for a proactive and commercially minded Quantity Surveyor who enjoys working collaboratively in a fast-paced project environment.

    Essential:

    * Strong experience in cost management within construction, civil engineering, or infrastructure

    * Good understanding of construction processes, contracts, and health & safety requirements

    * Ability to build effective relationships with project teams and stakeholders

    Desirable:

    * Degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline

    * Experience working on infrastructure or utility projects

    * Ambition to develop a long-term career within commercial management

    What’s on Offer

    * Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package

    * Company pension and life assurance

    * Private medical cover

    * 25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays and additional loyalty days

    * Ongoing training, professional development, and clear career progression opportunities

    * Flexible benefits and wellbeing support

Be part of a team delivering essential infrastructure projects that make a lasting difference — with the opportunity to grow your career alongside a business shaping the future of UK infrastructure
