How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Lecturer in IT – Temporary – 14 hours per week – Broxbourne - £30.83 to £33.02 per hour

    We are recruiting for a temporary Lecturer in IT to work at Hertford Regional College to help deliver an outstanding learner experience and be inspirational to students at their state of art facilities in Broxbourne.

    About The Role

    We are seeking an individual who is passionate about supporting our learners in developing their knowledge, practical skills and to work 14 hours per week on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays teaching IT Level 1 to 3 at the Broxbourne Campus from September 2026. As an IT Lecturer you will teach inspiring lessons to maximise the progress, development, and employability of our IT students.

    About You

    Successful candidates will display a passion for teaching and enjoy interacting and engaging with students. You will work collaboratively with colleagues whilst using your own initiative. You will have great interpersonal and organisation skills and competent in using IT systems.

    This role will suit someone who is seeking an opportunity to showcase their expertise and who can demonstrate positive approach to work, with the ability to relate and motivate young people to achieve student success.

    A teaching qualification is not essential but is highly desirable. You will have proven tangible experience of IT and hold an IT qualification Level 3 or above.
