How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Description:

    As a Project Engineer, you'll manage projects from initial customer enquiry through to successful delivery, becoming the main point of contact throughout the entire process.

    The Project Engineer will review technical drawings and specifications, prepare quotations, provide technical advice to customers and coordinate projects to ensure they progress smoothly through manufacturing and delivery. Working closely with customers and internal departments, you'll ensure projects remain on schedule while maintaining excellent communication throughout.

    This Project Engineer position is ideal for someone who enjoys solving engineering problems, building customer relationships and taking ownership of multiple projects. You'll be trusted to manage your own workload while working as part of an experienced and supportive team.

    The successful Project Engineer will enjoy a varied role where no two projects are the same, combining technical knowledge with customer interaction and commercial awareness.

    Skills & Experience:

    * Experience within a Project Engineer, Design Engineer, Estimator, Applications Engineer or similar technical engineering role.

    * Ability to read and interpret engineering or construction drawings.

    * Strong customer communication and relationship-building skills.

    * Commercial awareness with experience preparing quotations or costings.

    * Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.

    * Engineering or construction industry experience is advantageous but not essential.

    * Self-motivated, proactive and able to solve technical problems independently.

    * HNC/HND or Degree qualified in an engineering discipline would be beneficial but is not essential
