How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Our client is a leading supplier of construction, building and M&E materials, partnering with customers across the UK to deliver high-volume products through a well-established international supply chain. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Demand Planner to join their procurement team at their Gatwick head office.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced procurement or supply chain professional who enjoys combining strategic planning, logistics coordination and supplier management to ensure products are available at the right time, at the right cost.

    Key Responsibilities

Manage demand planning and inventory levels to ensure optimum stock availability.
Produce and maintain accurate demand forecasts using historical data, market trends and customer demand.
Coordinate cost-effective inbound logistics, including planning full container loads from overseas suppliers.
Work closely with international suppliers to optimise lead times, freight costs and supply performance.
Monitor and maintain accurate stock data across the warehouse management system.
Review supplier performance, pricing and service levels to drive continuous improvement.
Identify and evaluate new suppliers and products to strengthen the supply base.
Support procurement activities, ensuring purchasing decisions align with business demand and commercial objectives.
    Person Specification

Previous experience within Demand Planning, Procurement, Supply Chain or Purchasing.
Experience managing inventory levels and demand forecasting.
Strong understanding of international logistics and supply chain planning.
Experience with batch buying or high-volume purchasing would be advantageous.
Confident analysing data and making commercially driven decisions.
Strong communication and supplier relationship management skills.
Mandarin or another Chinese language would be highly advantageous, although not essential.
    Package

    £36,000 - £42,000 salary, depending on experience.
    Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
Office-based in Gatwick with 1-2 days hybrid working available following successful completion of probation.
Opportunity to join a growing, market-leading business with genuine long-term career prospects.
If you're an experienced Demand Planner or Procurement professional looking for your next challenge, we'd love to hear from you
