How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

An outstanding opportunity for a SEND Cover Supervisor in Rochester, Kent. Manage classrooms in an independent ASD school for KS3/4 students, ensuring pre-planned lessons are delivered effectively. Candidates must have experience with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and a resilient, empathetic approach.

Job Vacancy: SEND Cover Supervisor (KS3/4)

Location: Rochester, Medway (Independent ASD Specialist Provision)
    Contract Type: Full-Time, Term-Time Only
Salary: £26,000 – £27,300 per annum (FTE, dependent on experience and qualifications)

    About the Role

We are seeking an adaptable and resilient SEND Cover Supervisor to join our independent specialist school in Rochester. In the absence of regular teaching staff, you will oversee whole classes, manage behaviour, and ensure students remain focused on pre-set work. Operating in an environment dedicated to inclusive education, you will adapt materials to meet the needs of Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 learners with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

    Key Responsibilities

    * Lesson Delivery: Supervise KS3 and KS4 classes, ensuring students complete pre-prepared activities in the teacher’s absence.

    * SEND Support: Adapt lesson content and communication styles to suit students with Autism and associated learning challenges.

    * Behaviour Management: Implement the school's positive behaviour policies, de-escalate challenging situations, and foster a calm, safe learning environment.

    * Student Engagement: Build strong rapport with young people, motivating them and supporting their emotional literacy and personal development.

    Person Specification

    * Experience: Proven experience in a secondary school, SEND provision, or similar specialist setting.

    * SEND Knowledge: A strong understanding of ASD and the ability to apply specialised support strategies.

    * Resilience: A calm, adaptable, and patient approach under pressure.

    * Compliance: An Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one) is strictly required.

    Benefits

    * Competitive salary aligned with your experience.

    * Comprehensive, free SEND and safeguarding training.

    * A highly supportive, close-knit team dedicated to both staff and student wellbeing.

    * An excellent stepping stone for aspiring teachers, HLTAs or those wishing to make a meaningful difference.

    * Potential for a permanent role and career progression
