How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    KS1 Teaching Assistant
    Location: Aston, Birmingham B6
    Weekly Pay: £480 - £520
    Working Days: Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)
    Start Date: September 2026
    Contract: Long-Term | Temp-to-Perm Opportunity

    Are you an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant with a passion for helping young learners flourish?

    Long Term Futures are working with a friendly and inclusive primary school in Aston to appoint a KS1 Teaching Assistant from September. This is a varied role where you'll support teaching and learning across Key Stage 1, delivering targeted interventions, providing additional support for pupils with SEN, and occasionally covering PPA sessions using pre-planned lessons.

    This opportunity would also suit an Early Career Teacher (ECT) looking to gain valuable classroom experience, build confidence leading lessons and develop a strong understanding of the KS1 curriculum within a supportive school environment.

    The Role

    Support pupils across Key Stage 1 to maximise engagement and progress.
    Deliver focused interventions in phonics, literacy and mathematics to small groups.
    Provide 1:1 support for children with additional learning needs.
    Adapt classroom activities to meet the needs of pupils with differing abilities.
    Promote positive behaviour and support pupils' social and emotional development.
    Work closely with teachers and the SEND team to implement learning strategies and monitor progress.
    Cover occasional PPA sessions by delivering pre-prepared lessons and maintaining a positive classroom environment.
    Help create a stimulating, inclusive classroom where every child is encouraged to succeed.The Ideal Candidate

    Experience working within a Key Stage 1 classroom.
    Good knowledge of phonics and early reading development.
    Confident delivering intervention sessions independently.
    Experience supporting pupils with SEN within a mainstream primary setting.
    Willingness to undertake occasional PPA cover.
    Positive, adaptable and nurturing approach.
