How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    The Company

    Our client is a leading main contractor delivering high-quality construction projects across the commercial, residential, industrial, and public sectors. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Site Engineer to join their project delivery team.

    The Role

    As a Site Engineer, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of construction projects, ensuring works are completed safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards. You will be responsible for setting out, coordinating subcontractors, monitoring progress, and ensuring compliance with project specifications and health & safety requirements.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Carry out accurate setting out using modern surveying equipment.

    * Supervise and coordinate subcontractors to ensure works are delivered in line with programme and quality standards.

    * Monitor subcontractor performance, ensuring work is completed safely and in accordance with drawings and specifications.

    * Interpret construction drawings and technical documentation.

    * Produce and maintain accurate site records, reports, and as-built information.

    * Conduct site inspections and quality checks throughout the construction process.

    * Carry out Health & Safety inspections and risk assessments, ensuring compliance with company procedures and current legislation.

    * Liaise with the Site Manager, Project Manager, design teams, and other stakeholders to resolve technical issues.

    * Support the delivery of projects within programme and budget.

    Requirements

    * Minimum of 3+ years' recent and relevant experience working as a Site Engineer for a main contractor.

    * At least 2+ years' experience successfully managing and coordinating subcontractors on large-scale construction projects.

    * Strong understanding of construction methodologies and site operations.

    * Proven track record of monitoring subcontractor performance and maintaining high quality standards.

    * Proficient in AutoCAD.

    * Experience carrying out Health & Safety assessments and site inspections.

    * Excellent communication and organisational skills.

    * Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a project team.

    * Full UK driving licence (preferred).
