How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Graduate Electrical Design Engineer

    Location: Manchester
    Salary: Competitive + benefits

    The Opportunity

    We are working with a national building services consultancy that is expanding its presence in the North and has recently opened a new Manchester office. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Graduate Electrical Design Engineer to join a developing and supportive team.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate looking to build a long-term career in building services design, with structured mentoring, hands-on project exposure, and clear progression.

    The Role

    As a Graduate Electrical Design Engineer, you will work closely with senior engineers on the design and delivery of electrical building services across a wide range of sectors, including:

    *

    Commercial offices

    Residential & mixed-use

    *

    Education

    *

    Healthcare

    *

    Industrial & logistics

    You will be supported day-to-day by a Senior Electrical Engineer, receiving tailored training and guidance as you develop your technical and professional skills.

    Key Responsibilities

    *

    Assist with the design of electrical building services systems (LV power, lighting, small power, fire alarms, data, etc.)

    *

    Support the production of calculations, specifications and technical drawings

    *

    Work with design software such as AutoCAD and Revit (training provided if required)

    *

    Attend design meetings and collaborate with internal teams and external consultants

    *

    Support projects from concept through to construction and completion

    About You

    *

    Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline

    *

    Strong interest in building services design and consultancy

    *

    Good communication skills and a proactive attitude

    *

    Keen to learn, develop and work towards professional accreditation (IEng/CEng)

    *

    Some industry placement or internship experience is beneficial but not essential
