How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Contract Design Engineer
    Hinckley
    6 months
    £40.00 - £46.00 P/ hr (Inside IR35)
    Working hours; 8am-5pm Monday>Thursday, 8am-1pm Friday (some degree of flexibility available, but this needs to be aligned with project deliverables)

    Contract Design Engineer On site Outline Job Specification:
    Necessary skills and expertise for the Services required, key objectives and project details:
    We want highly motivated individuals with a passion for engineering. You should have the drive and determination to work towards taking full responsibility for the design, development and testing of equipment projects from concept to volume production. You will have exceptional attention to detail, great communication skills, the capacity to work individually as well as part of a high calibre team, and have the ability to meet tight deadlines with no compromise on quality.
    The expansive range of automotive equipment the team develops requires the application of engineering first principles and the ability to develop products for multiple manufacturing processes. These include but are not limited to pressings, forgings, fabrications, machined parts and injection mouldings.

    Contract Design Engineer Duties and Responsibilities
    - Liaising with stylists during the concept phases of new model projects.
    - Produce motorcycle equipment upgrade schemes on 3D CAD (PTC Creo).
    - Create fully detailed technical drawings to BS 8888 & the latest industry standards.
    - Produce completed designs with full consideration given to the:-
    o Material
    o Heat Treatment
    o Surface Finish
    o Geometric Tolerances
    o Manufacturing method
    o Duty & strength calculations
    o Corrosion resistance
    o Ease of assembly & component clearances
    o Cost
    o Mass
    - Compliance with internal procedures and Homologation requirements
    - Release components and kits through the internal design change system.
    - Liaise closely with other departments and external suppliers.
    - Create and update bill of materials lists (BOM).
    - Document test work, design decisions and engineering justifications in the form of technical reports.
    - Use computer programs and advanced analysis for initial validation investigations such as Finite Element Analysis.
    - Attend and contribute to specialist Engineering working groups to develop and share best practice where appropriate.
    - Undertake and assist with projects as required by your Manager
