How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Are you an experienced Maintenance Engineer or Fabric Engineer looking for a varied, hands-on role?
    A leading workplace and facilities management company is looking for a Maintenance Specialist to join its expanding team, maintaining high-quality office environments across London Zones 1 and 2. This is a mobile role where no two days are the same, giving you the opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of client sites carrying out reactive maintenance, repairs and fit-out support.
    The Role As the Maintenance Specialist, you will:

    Carry out first-line maintenance, diagnosing faults and completing repairs or arranging specialist contractors where required.
    Deliver a wide range of reactive maintenance including plumbing, minor electrical works, decorating, carpentry and general fabric repairs.
    Complete site inspections and identify larger repair requirements.
    Support office fit-outs and tenant move-ins, including mounting TVs, installing whiteboards and completing finishing works.
    Oversee contractor works to ensure they are completed safely and to a high standard.
    Travel between sites across London using public transport, managing your workload through a mobile job management system.
    Build positive relationships with clients while delivering an excellent on-site service. About You To be successful in this role, you'll have:

    Previous experience within Facilities Management, Building Maintenance or Construction.
    A Level 2 City & Guilds qualification in Electrical, Plumbing or Carpentry.
    Experience carrying out general building maintenance and fault finding.
    A good understanding of electrical, plumbing and general building systems.
    Strong problem-solving skills and excellent attention to detail.
    A professional, customer-focused approach with confidence working in occupied buildings.
