How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

This role involves supporting young people with their daily routines, independence skills, emotional wellbeing, safety, appointments and positive activities. You will work in line with individual support plans, pathway plans and risk assessments, while maintaining accurate records and following safeguarding procedures at all times.

The successful candidate will already have experience working within the UK health and social care sector and will be confident supporting vulnerable individuals in a professional, person-centred and structured way.

    Essential Requirements

    Applicants must have:

    - A minimum of 2 years’ recent experience in the UK health and social care sector.
    - Relevant experience supporting vulnerable people in a care, support, residential, supported living or similar setting.
    - The right to work in the UK without employer sponsorship.
    - Availability to work full-time on a rota basis.
    - No restriction limiting working hours to 20 hours per week.
    - Good understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality and professional boundaries.
    - Strong communication and record-keeping skills.
    - The ability to remain calm, professional and reliable under pressure.

Applications from candidates without relevant UK-based care or support experience may not be progressed.

    Desirable Requirements

The following would be beneficial but are not essential:

    - NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Health and Social Care
    - Experience working with young people, looked-after children, care leavers or unaccompanied asylum-seeking children
    - Experience in supported accommodation or semi-independent living services
    - Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle
    - Knowledge of support plans, pathway plans and risk assessments

    Key Responsibilities

    Your responsibilities will include:

    - Providing a safe, welcoming and supportive environment for young people.
    - Supporting young people in line with their individual needs, support plans and risk assessments.
    - Helping young people build independence, confidence and positive daily routines.
    - Supporting access to appointments, education, community services and activities.
    - Promoting emotional wellbeing, positive behaviour and safe decision-making.
    - Maintaining accurate daily notes, case records, incident forms and reports.
    - Following safeguarding procedures and reporting concerns appropriately.
    - Working professionally with colleagues, social workers, healthcare professionals and other external agencies.
    - Supporting the smooth running of shifts, including sleep-in shifts or waking nights where required.
    - Assisting with household duties and maintaining a clean, safe living environment.
    - Following company policies, Health and Safety, COSHH, RIDDOR and safeguarding requirements.
    - Attending staff meetings, supervision and training when required.
    - Responding appropriately to incidents, emergencies and challenging situations.
    - Maintaining professional boundaries and acting as a positive role model.

    About You

We are looking for someone who is compassionate, responsible and confident working with vulnerable young people.

You will be reliable, patient and professional, with the ability to follow procedures, manage boundaries and communicate clearly with both young people and professionals. You should be comfortable working as part of a team and able to use your experience to support young people safely and effectively.

    Benefits
    Referral programme
    Good transport links
    Full induction and training
    Supportive working environment
Opportunity to develop within the health and social care sector

    Right to Work

Applicants must already have the right to work in the UK. This role does not offer visa sponsorship, and we are unable to consider applicants who require sponsorship now or in the future.

Due to the nature of the role, successful applicants will be subject to safer recruitment checks, including references, right-to-work checks and an enhanced DBS check where required
