How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Electrical Estimator | Central London | £55,000 - £85,000 + Package

    I'm currently working with a well-established £40m turnover M&E contractor with an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality commercial fit-out projects across London and the South East. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, they're looking to appoint an Electrical Estimator to join their pre-construction team at their Central London office.

    This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Electrical Estimator or an ambitious Intermediate Estimator looking to take the next step in their career with a business that genuinely invests in its people.

    The Company

    Established M&E contractor with an annual turnover of approximately £40m
    Specialists in commercial fit-out and refurbishment projects
    Typical project values ranging up to £15m
    Strong client base with a high level of repeat business
    Stable, collaborative and growing pre-construction team

    The Role

    Working closely with the Pre-Construction Manager and wider commercial team, you'll be responsible for producing competitive and accurate electrical tenders from initial enquiry through to submission.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    Preparing detailed electrical estimates and cost plans
    Reviewing tender documentation, specifications and drawings
    Obtaining and evaluating supplier and subcontractor quotations
    Identifying value engineering opportunities
    Liaising with clients, consultants and the internal delivery teams
    Assisting with tender presentations and handovers to the project teams

    What They're Looking For

    Minimum 3 years' experience in electrical estimating
    Experience using relevant estimating software
    Background within the M&E or building services sector
    Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
    Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
    Experience tendering projects valued at £5m+ would be highly advantageous
    Intermediate Estimators looking to progress into a more senior role are encouraged to apply
