How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Your new company

    An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a long-established and highly respected architectural practice based near Preston. With a heritage spanning almost 100 years, this award-winning practice has built an outstanding reputation for delivering innovative, technically complex and sustainable projects across the UK. The business operates within specialist sectors including education, healthcare, science & research, and industrial & advanced manufacturing, working with a range of prestigious public and private sector clients.
    Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, they are seeking an Architect or Senior Architect to join their established team.

    Your new role

    You will play a key role in the delivery of a diverse portfolio of projects from concept design through to completion. Working within a collaborative office environment, you will contribute to technically challenging schemes whilst supporting the development of sustainable and innovative design solutions.

    The successful candidate will:

    Lead and contribute to projects across education, healthcare, science & research, and industrial sectors.
    Produce high-quality technical and design documentation.
    Liaise with clients, consultants and project stakeholders.
    Support project delivery through all RIBA stages.
    Develop designs using REVIT and BIM workflows.
    Assist with project coordination and contract administration where required.
    Mentor and support junior team members (Senior Architect level).What you'll need to succeed

    ARB registered Architect with relevant post-qualification experience.
    Proven experience delivering projects within one or more of the following sectors:
    Education
    Healthcare
    Science & Research
    Industrial & Advanced Manufacturing
    Strong technical and design abilities.
    REVIT proficiency is highly desirable. Training and further development can be provided for candidates with some existing REVIT exposure.
    Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
    Due to the secure nature of several projects, applicants must be UK nationals.
    Experience within residential housebuilding, volume housing developments or predominantly domestic residential projects is unlikely to be the right fit for this position.What you'll get in return
