How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Offering a competitive salary up to £52,000 including shift allowance, optional overtime, and the chance to work on one of the UK’s most advanced automated facilities.

    About MotionTech Lifetime Services
At MotionTech, we design, install and maintain intelligent automation and material handling systems for some of the UK’s biggest names in retail and logistics. The Role
As a Maintenance Engineer, you’ll play a key role in keeping our customer’s automated systems operating at peak performance. You’ll be part of a small, skilled team, providing both planned and reactive maintenance across conveyors, AMRs, and automated handling systems within a fast-paced logistics environment.
Location: Swindon (SN3) Salary: Up to £52,000 (inclusive of shift allowance) + Overtime Hours: 12-hour shifts, working on a four on, four off rotation (days and nights).

    What you’ll be doing:

Delivering planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and responding quickly to breakdowns

Supporting site uptime and performance against KPIs

Working safely to H&S standards, ensuring compliance with AMH and client policies

Using the CMMS system to record, plan and complete maintenance tasks

Supporting continuous improvement projects to enhance equipment reliability

Maintaining clear communication with the engineering and operations teams

Ensuring all documentation and reports are accurate and up to date

This is a hands-on, technically varied role where you’ll work with the latest automation technologies and gain exposure to some of the most advanced logistics engineering systems in the UK.

    What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for an adaptable, reliable engineer who enjoys problem-solving, continuous learning, and teamwork.

    Essential:

Relevant qualification in engineering e.g. NVQ, apprenticeship etc

Previous experience in maintenance engineering (electrical, mechanical, or multi-skilled)

Practical understanding of conveyors, motors, pneumatics, and PLC-controlled systems

    Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills

    Excellent communication and team-working ability

Flexible to work shifts (including days/nights on a 4-on, 4-off rotation)

Committed to working safely and maintaining high standards

Why You’ll Love Working with MotionTech

Up to £52,000 including shift allowance, with overtime opportunities

    12-hour shifts, 4-on 4-off for excellent work-life balance

Career growth – structured opportunities to progress within MotionTech's expanding network of sites

Training and development on the latest automation technologies

Comprehensive benefits – pension, sick pay, death in service, company uniform, laptop and phone provided

Supportive, people-focused culture where collaboration and humour are valued

Be part of the future of automation, working with world-class technology and a respected UK leader in the sector
