How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Location: Coventry

    Salary: Competitive Rates of Pay

    Start Date: ASAP

    Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term

    Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm

    About the Role

    TeacherActive is proud to be working with a welcoming and supportive primary school in Coventry that is looking to appoint a dedicated Year 3 Teaching Assistant. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and caring individual who is passionate about supporting children's learning and development within Key Stage 2.

    The successful candidate will work closely alongside the class teacher to support pupils academically, socially and emotionally, helping to create a positive and engaging learning environment where every child can thrive.

    Candidate Requirements

    The successful applicant will have:

    A Level 2 Qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or Level 2 Childcare (or above).
    Previous experience working with primary-aged children.
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    A positive, proactive and flexible approach to supporting learning.
    The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
    A genuine passion for helping children achieve their full potential.

    Key Responsibilities

    Support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons to a Year 3 class.
    Provide individual and small group support to pupils where required.
    Encourage positive behaviour and promote an inclusive classroom environment.
    Support pupils with their academic, social and emotional development.
    Assist with classroom preparation and general learning activities.
    Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents where appropriate.

    Compliance Requirements

    To be considered for this role, you must have:

    Two professional references from your most recent employers.
    An Enhanced DBS Certificate registered on the Update Service, or be willing to obtain a new Enhanced DBS through TeacherActive.
