How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Are you the person clients ask for by name?

Perhaps you're an experienced Personal Tax Senior ready to step into a leadership role. Maybe you're already a Client Manager, Portfolio Manager or Assistant Manager looking for a practice where relationships matter just as much as technical expertise. If you're looking for a role where you can genuinely influence clients, mentor others and help shape the future of a growing business, this could be exactly what you've been waiting for.

This is far more than a compliance role. You'll become the trusted adviser for your own portfolio of personal tax clients, building long-term relationships and providing practical advice they can understand. You'll also play an important part in developing junior talent and contributing ideas that help the practice continue its ambitious growth. If you enjoy working closely with people, take pride in delivering outstanding client service and want your contribution to make a real difference, you'll find plenty of opportunity here.

    Responsibilities:

Manage a varied portfolio of personal tax clients including sole traders, partnerships, landlords and company directors.
Review Self Assessment tax returns along with sole trader, partnership and rental accounts.
Meet clients throughout the year, providing practical advice in straightforward language.
Act as the main point of contact, building trusted long-term relationships.
Mentor and support an Accounts Technician, helping develop their technical ability and confidence.
Manage workflow, deadlines and identify opportunities to improve client service and internal processes.
    The Ideal Candidate

Experience working within an accountancy practice.
Strong knowledge of Self Assessment and personal tax.
Comfortable managing your own client portfolio and building lasting client relationships.
Experience reviewing work completed by junior colleagues and supporting their development.
Confident communicator who explains technical matters in plain English.
Organised, proactive and keen to play a part in the future growth of the business.
    What's on Offer

    £45,000 - £50,000 .
Opportunity to join a growing independent accountancy practice with genuine long-term career prospects.
A varied portfolio with autonomy to build strong client relationships.
The chance to mentor and develop junior team members.
Support to continue developing your technical knowledge and leadership skills.
Opportunity to become part of the future leadership team.
Friendly, collaborative working environment where your ideas are welcomed.
Register your interest by applying today or call Richard Davies or Luke Scale on (phone number removed) to discuss this opportunity further, always in complete confidence.
