How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Start Date: September 2026
    Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Are you a passionate and dedicated Qualified Teacher (QTS) looking to make a real difference in the lives of children with additional needs? Do you thrive in an inclusive environment where every achievement is celebrated and every child is supported to reach their full potential?

TeacherActive is working with a welcoming and well-resourced SEN school in Ipswich that is looking to appoint an enthusiastic SEN Teacher to join their committed team from September 2026.

This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about delivering creative, engaging, and personalised learning to pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Whether you have experience working in a specialist setting or have supported pupils with SEND in a mainstream school, we'd love to hear from you.

    About the Role

As an SEN Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and complex communication needs.

Working closely with Learning Support Assistants, therapists, and the wider multidisciplinary team, you will create a nurturing, structured, and inclusive classroom where every pupil can develop academically, socially, and emotionally.

    Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
Create an inclusive classroom environment where every pupil feels valued and supported.
Adapt teaching strategies to meet EHCP outcomes and individual learning styles.
Monitor, assess, and record pupil progress, adapting lessons where necessary.
Work collaboratively with Learning Support Assistants, therapists, parents, and external professionals.
Promote pupils' independence, confidence, and emotional wellbeing.
Contribute to the wider life of the school and support a positive learning culture.
    What We're Looking For

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – Essential.
Experience working with pupils with SEND in either a specialist or mainstream setting.
A strong understanding of differentiated teaching and inclusive classroom practice.
Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
A patient, compassionate, and resilient approach.
    Strong communication and teamwork skills.
A genuine passion for helping children with additional needs achieve their full potential.
Experience supporting pupils with Autism (ASC), SLD, MLD, PMLD, or complex needs would be advantageous.
Our staff are paid on a PAYE basis, so you can rest assured you're paying the correct level of Tax and National Insurance, with no hidden admin charges or umbrella deductions from your hard-earned pay.
