How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Enterprise Architect

    £70-80,000 | Remote First | 1-2 Days Per Month in Peterborough

    Help shape the future of technology at one of the UK's leading charities

    We're partnering with one of the UK's most recognised charities as they embark on a significant Digital, Data and Technology transformation.

    Following the appointment of a new technology leadership team, the organisation is investing heavily in modernising its technology estate, introducing product-led ways of working and building the foundations for long-term digital success. As part of this journey, they are creating a brand-new Enterprise Architect position to help define the future direction of technology across the organisation.

    This is a rare opportunity to join at the beginning of a transformation rather than inheriting the finished product.

    You'll be stepping into an environment where things are evolving quickly. New structures are being introduced, governance is being strengthened and technology strategy is being reshaped. The successful candidate will play a key role in bringing clarity, direction and consistency to a complex technology landscape whilst helping delivery teams move with confidence.

    The Opportunity

    As Enterprise Architect, you'll be responsible for establishing the architectural principles, standards and target-state roadmaps that will underpin the organisation's future technology strategy.

    Rather than acting as a central approval function, you'll work closely with technical teams and senior stakeholders to create practical guardrails that enable innovation whilst balancing security, resilience, operational effectiveness and cost.

    This role is ideal for someone who enjoys:

    * Operating in transformation and change environments.
    * Creating order within complex or fragmented technology estates.
    * Influencing stakeholders at all levels without relying on hierarchy.
    * Building architectural capability and governance from the ground up.
    * Shaping long-term strategy whilst remaining close enough to delivery to make an impact.

    What We're Looking For

    * Experience in Enterprise Architecture or a comparable senior architecture capacity.
    * A track record of simplifying technology estates and reducing technical debt.
    * Strong knowledge across cloud, SaaS, integration, platforms and infrastructure.
    * Experience working within modern Microsoft and Azure environments.
    * An understanding of API-led and event-driven architecture principles.
    * The ability to influence delivery teams and business stakeholders through collaboration rather than control.

    Most importantly, you'll be someone who can help an organisation navigate change, bring people together around a shared direction and create architecture that genuinely enables better outcomes.
