Estimator (Freelance)

PSR Solutions are currently recruiting for an experienced Estimator to join a leading fit-out and refurbishment contractor on a freelance basis in London.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Estimator with a proven track record in commercial fit-out, refurbishment and interiors projects to support a busy pre-construction team during a period of sustained growth and project wins.

Working closely with Bid Managers, Pre-Construction Managers, Design Teams and Supply Chain Partners, the successful candidate will be responsible for producing accurate and competitive cost estimates across a range of projects, helping to secure new business opportunities and support the company's continued success.

The role would suit an Estimator who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, has strong commercial awareness and is comfortable managing multiple tenders simultaneously.

Estimator Responsibilities

Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for commercial fit-out and refurbishment projects.
Review tender documentation, drawings, specifications and employer's requirements.
Produce take-offs and quantify materials, labour and subcontract packages.
Obtain and analyse quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.
Identify value engineering opportunities and alternative solutions.
Work closely with pre-construction, design and operational teams to develop competitive bid strategies.
Attend tender review meetings and contribute to bid submissions.
Assess project risks and opportunities during the estimating process.
Prepare cost plans, budgets and tender adjudication documents.
Support negotiations with clients, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors where required.
Maintain strong relationships with the supply chain and key project stakeholders.

Estimator Requirements

Proven experience working as an Estimator within the fit-out, refurbishment or interiors sector.
Strong understanding of commercial construction and fit-out projects.
Experience pricing projects from first principles and analysing subcontractor returns.
Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications and tender documents.
Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
Experience working on projects within commercial office, workplace, education, healthcare or mixed-use sectors would be advantageous.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and estimating software packages.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.
