How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Painter & Decorator – Luxury 5-Star Hotel

    Location: Central London
    Rate: £220 per day
    Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm
    Break: One-hour unpaid lunch
Contract: Agency assignment – ongoing and project-based work

    Exceptional Standards Required

We are recruiting an experienced and highly skilled Painter and Decorator to work within one of Central London’s leading five-star hotels.

This is a prestigious, guest-facing environment where the quality of every finish matters. The hotel maintains exceptionally high presentation standards and requires a professional decorator who takes genuine pride in their work and can consistently produce clean, precise and flawless results.

The hotel has an extensive programme of decorating work planned, ranging from complete guestroom and corridor refurbishments to detailed patch repairs, snagging and discreet touch-ups within occupied areas.

    The Work

You will undertake a varied programme of painting and decorating across:

    Luxury guestrooms and suites
    Corridors, staircases and lift lobbies
    Restaurants, bars and function rooms
    Reception and public areas
    Offices and staff areas
Doors, frames, skirting boards and architraves
    Ceilings, walls, woodwork and metalwork
Projects will range from full-room decoration through to smaller reactive repairs where colours and finishes must be carefully matched to the existing décor.

    Key Responsibilities

Preparing walls, ceilings, woodwork and other surfaces to an exceptional standard
Filling cracks, dents, holes and surface imperfections
Sanding, caulking, stain blocking, sealing and priming
Applying emulsion, eggshell, satinwood, gloss and specialist coatings
Producing sharp cutting-in lines and smooth, consistent finishes
Painting doors, frames, skirting boards, architraves and decorative mouldings
Completing full guestroom and corridor redecoration projects
Carrying out patch painting, snagging and invisible touch-up repairs
Matching existing colours, textures and finishes
Removing and hanging wallpaper where required
Protecting carpets, furniture, fixtures and hotel furnishings
Keeping work areas clean, organised and safe throughout the assignment
Removing dust sheets, tools and waste at the end of each working period
Working discreetly around hotel guests, employees and operational departments
Completing work efficiently without compromising quality

    What We Are Looking For

You must be an experienced Painter and Decorator who is accustomed to producing high-quality finishes within luxury hotels, high-end residential properties or similarly demanding commercial environments.

    You will need:

Substantial professional painting and decorating experience
A proven ability to deliver excellent decorative finishes
Strong preparation, filling, sanding and finishing skills
    Excellent attention to detail
Experience working within occupied or live environments
The ability to complete both large decorating projects and delicate touch-up work
A clean, tidy and methodical approach
Good communication and customer service skills
    Excellent timekeeping and reliability
    A professional and respectful manner
The ability to work independently and manage your own workload
    Recent and checkable decorating references
The right to work in the UK
A recognised City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent painting and decorating qualification would be advantageous but is not essential for a highly experienced decorator.

    Tools, Clothing and PPE

    Applicants must provide their own:

    Safety boots
    Clean white decorating overalls
    Professional-quality brushes
    Rollers, frames and extension poles
    Filling and preparation tools
    Dust sheets and protective coverings
General hand tools required to complete the work
The hotel will supply the paint and other specified decorating materials.

Specialist Skills That Would Be Advantageous

Experience in any of the following would be particularly valuable:

Hanging luxury wallpaper and specialist wallcoverings
Installing wide-width, vinyl or fabric-backed wallcoverings
    Airless or HVLP spray finishing
Wood staining, oiling, varnishing and lacquering
French polishing and restoration of decorative timber finishes
    Venetian or polished plaster
Marbling, wood graining and other decorative paint effects
Metallic, pearlescent and textured feature finishes
    Gilding or gold-leaf application
Painting detailed cornices, mouldings and period features
Colour matching, tinting and blending invisible repairs
Applying fire-retardant or specialist protective coatings
These specialist skills are desirable rather than essential. The most important requirement is the ability to produce consistently outstanding decorating work.

    Rate and Working Hours

    £220 per day
    Eight paid working hours
    8:00am–5:00pm
    One-hour unpaid lunch
    Central London location
Agency-based assignments with multiple projects available
This is an excellent opportunity for a first-class Painter and Decorator who enjoys working in prestigious surroundings and wants to be judged on the quality of their workmanship.

    Apply Today

Please apply with an up-to-date CV or details of your recent painting and decorating experience.

Applicants should include examples of luxury hotel, high-end residential or premium commercial decorating work where possible.
