How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Location: Leicester City Women's Training Ground, Belvoir Drive, Leicester, LE2 8HN (with weekly attendance at Loughborough College)

    Contract Type: Permanent

    Hours: 37.5 Hours Per Week

    Working Pattern:

    Monday: 11:00am – 7:30pm

    Tuesday: 11:00am – 7:30pm

    Wednesday: 9:00am – 6:00pm

    Thursday: 9:00am – 5:00pm (Loughborough College)

    Friday: 10:30am – 6:30pm

    Leicester City Women's Football Club is seeking an outstanding Academy Education Lead to play a pivotal role within our Women's Academy.

    This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced education professional who is passionate about supporting young people, values the importance of dual-career development, and wants to make a lasting impact in an elite sporting environment.

    As Academy Education Lead, you will take ownership of the Academy Education Programme, ensuring every player receives high-quality educational support that complements their football development. Working closely with players, parents, schools, colleges, universities and academy staff, you will help shape the future of talented young athletes both on and off the pitch.

    About the Role

    Reporting to the Head of Women's Academy, you will lead, develop and quality assure the Academy's educational provision across the Professional Game Academy (PGA).

    You will act as the primary liaison with schools, colleges, universities and education partners, ensuring players receive a personalised educational experience that supports both academic achievement and football progression.

    The role will see you work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to ensure education remains at the heart of player development, supporting players through key transitions and helping them achieve their potential both academically and personally.

    Key Responsibilities

    Education Leadership

    Lead and oversee the Women's Academy Education Programme.

    Design, implement and periodically review educational pathways and provision.

    Ensure compliance with FA Professional Game Academy licensing requirements.

    Coordinate and quality assure academy-based educational support and interventions.

    Support audit, accreditation and quality assurance processes.

    Academic Support & Monitoring

    Monitor player attendance, attainment and academic progression.

    Implement early interventions where additional support is required.

    Support players in developing effective study habits, confidence and independence.

    Work with schools and colleges to minimise disruption during training and competition periods.

    Support players through examination periods and other academic pressure points.

    Stakeholder Management

    Act as the primary point of contact for schools, colleges, universities and awarding bodies.

    Represent the Club with key education partners, including Loughborough College.

    Build strong relationships with parents and carers, providing guidance on educational pathways and expectations.

    Maintain effective communication with all stakeholders regarding player progress and support requirements.

    Player Development & Transition Support

    Support players transitioning between age groups, programmes and educational stages.

    Assist players moving into senior football, higher education, apprenticeships or employment.

    Ensure educational continuity for players involved in loans, dual registrations or contract transitions.

    Work closely with the Academy Performance Wellbeing Lead to support holistic player development.

    Safeguarding & Compliance

    Maintain accurate education records and reporting systems.

    Promote a safe, inclusive and aspirational learning environment.

    Ensure compliance with safeguarding, GDPR and academy policies.

    Contribute to multidisciplinary meetings and academy planning processes.

    About You

    You will be an organised, proactive and relationship-focused individual who is passionate about helping young people succeed.

    You'll have the ability to inspire players, collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders and adapt to the demands of a high-performance sporting environment.

    Essential Qualifications & Requirements

    Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) with active SET membership.

    Degree in Education, Sport, Social Sciences or a related subject.

    Enhanced DBS check.

    FA Safeguarding Children qualification (or willingness to obtain within three months).

    FA Level 2 Emergency First Aid in Football (EFAiF).

    Full UK Driving Licence.

    Commitment to ongoing CPD and professional development.

    Coaching, mentoring or player development qualifications would be advantageous.
