How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    About Us

At Scottish Autism, we acknowledge the specialist support our staff provide to autistic people, therefore, those carrying out support work are known as Autism Practitioners. We are committed to supporting over 60 autistic adults across Fife, providing personalised care across a variety of settings. Our services range in their level of complexity and have varying staffing ratios, including 1:1 and 2:1 support.

    About the Role

We're looking for committed, compassionate, and creative Autism Practitioners to support a young autistic man as he shapes his brand-new service.

This isn't just a job — it's an opportunity to be part of an exciting new chapter in someone's life. You'll work alongside him as he builds his future, explores new opportunities, and develops the confidence and skills to live a fulfilling life.

A full UK driving licence would be beneficial (although not essential), as he enjoys scenic drives and visiting quiet local parks. This is a 2:1 support service, where you'll help him engage in sensory activities at home, develop independent living skills, and build meaningful daily routines. He has a passion for music, enjoys relaxing in his hot tub, and values spending time doing the things that make him happy and comfortable.

If you're someone who brings creativity, patience, and a positive attitude to your support, we'd love to hear from you and help create a service that truly makes a difference.

    Key Responsibilities:

    - Build positive relationships with the supported person
    - To support people to take part in their chosen activities
    - Continuously develop personalised support plans with the supported people, their support network, and other stakeholders to ensure their life goals and aspirations are the main focus
    - Complete all tasks necessary to maintain their home and to support with personal care
    - As part of your role, you will be required to undertake shift work, including weekends and evenings, so flexibility towards working hours is key

    Why Join Us?

We are proud to provide a comprehensive benefits package for our colleagues, including:

    - 30 days' holiday pro rata (which increases with your length of service)
    - Sector-leading training from day one, including fully funded support to complete your necessary SVQ
    - Non-contributory life assurance scheme
    - Workplace Pension (Employer matched up to 9%)
    - Discount platform
    - Employee Assistance Programme

Find out more about our organisational benefits on our website.

Shift pattern includes days, evenings, sleepovers and weekends. Some contracts have waking nights – ask more for the waking night rate and shift pattern.
