How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Fire & Security Engineer Birmingham/West Midlands
    Salary: £34,000 - £38,000 + Van & Benefits

    Options Resourcing is working with a well-established Fire & Security provider to recruit 2 experienced Fire & Security Engineers.

    Our client is an NSI Gold accredited company, protecting homes and businesses since the 1980's. They deliver a full range of security and fire solutions including CCTV, intruder alarms, access control, fire detection, and monitoring services, working across commercial, public sector, and residential markets throughout the West Midlands and surrounding counties.

    The Role

    Installation, servicing, and maintenance of intruder alarms, fire alarms, CCTV, and access control systems
    Working across commercial, public sector, and residential sites
    Diagnosing and resolving faults efficiently and to a high standard
    Delivering work in line with NSI, BAFE, and FIA accreditation standardsWhat We're Looking For

    Proven experience as a Fire & Security Engineer (installation and/or maintenance)
    Strong knowledge of intruder alarms, fire alarms, CCTV, and/or access control systems
    Full UK driving licence
    Relevant industry qualifications (e.g. FIA, NSI) desirable
    Good communication skills and a professional, customer-focused approachWhat's on Offer
